Playroom Plans

Can I just first say it has been such a busy past few days. We are currently getting Vivian's playroom done, and I really didn't realize how much work it would be. Thankfully, I have one handy husband who doesn't mess around when it comes to projects! We are just adding finishing details and waiting on V's teepee for it to be complete but I thought that I would share with you guys the plans that we started with to give you inspiration for your own playrooms or spaces you might be looking to redo!

I really wanted to focus on keeping the big things (mainly storage and shelving) in neutrals, this space to grow with Viv, and for it to be full of F U N. Our living room is shared with this which what is really an extra dining room, so we focused on blacks, whites, and browns with her toys, pillows, etc. being the color. I absolutely love love love ... did I say LOVE this area. I think it's so intriguing and inviting, as well as the perfect spot to create a mess! Since we are renting a house, we aren't allowed to paint with dark colors, so a chalkboard wall was out of the question. Or was it!? .. We made it work with a little plywood and paint .. DIY tutorial is on the way with the outcome. And it. is. amazing. And relatively inexpensive. We also made shelving from rain gutters .. say it ain't so?? Stay tuned.

I have seen tons of teepees and wish I would have had one when I was little with a TON of pillows .. because you can never have enough. I seriously obsess over the dragon pillow, I have no idea why. And that princess and the pea pillow, and Mini Boheme Bunny pillow, I can't deal. Of course a playroom isn't complete without lots of books and stuffed animals, which I think is never an issue. HA! If you notice the gold dots, I actually have my eye on these gold dot wall decals from urban walls, to give the area an extra spoonful of playfulness. I can't wait to show you guys the result, it is my second favorite room next to her nursery. Details for the plan are listed below!
