HAPPY BIRTHDAY FINN HARTWELL!

Although I can't seem to wrap my head around that it has been ONE YEAR since we welcomed our sweet boy into the world, it is true. One year ago on this day, we were so anxious to meet Finn we could hardly wait. I remember going in for our first scheduled c-section at 4:30 p.m. and being pushed and pushed back since they kept having emergency ones being bumped in front of us. I also remember waiting back in the pre-opt room with my mom, Chase & Vivian and hearing a woman come onto the floor screaming for her life. Literally, she walked onto the floor 9 cm pushing as she was walking down the hallway calling for our doctor. Talk about heart wrenching and anxiety ... Once it was our turn, at 9:46 p.m. we welcomed our 8 pound, 11 ounce little man who went straight back to sleep on me after being weighed and bathed and messed with.

At one year old, he still loves to be held. Which is probably why he isn't walking yet ;) He will sit on the floor and raise up his arms to you to just snuggle his head right into your neck. He really is the most easy, loving, relaxed ball of butter. He has co-slept with us since he came home and has one specific corner of the couch he likes to fall asleep on while either Chase or I hold him. I am so proud to say too that we made our milestone of nursing a year! I nursed Vivian for a year, which being a first time mom was a huge accomplishment for me in it self, but doing it a second time around I hoped just to only make it 6 months.

Some of his favorite things right now include anything filled with water. The dogs water bowl, the bath tub, the pool and any random puddles he can find he will be in to! He's practically a fish! He also loves the mega legos, anything musical & any kind of ball! He also thinks it's hysterical if you act like your hurt and say like "ugh!" or "oooh!", typical boy right? Haha. He will also put away almost every kind of fruit, pancakes, & applesauce. Oh, and licks of Vivian's popsicles when she's not looking ;)

I remember saying, before we knew whether Finn was a boy or a girl, I don't know what I'd do with a boy! I'm so used to girls and hair bows and tutus. But I can't imagine having a girl instead of our Finn man. Getting to play both tutu's and trucks is so much fun with them. More than anything, the best thing I think i've ever given both Vivian and Finn is each other. Becoming a family of four was very scary, yet so extremely exciting. Even though some days are filled with madness, some days are great and every one takes a nap on time, I wouldn't trade any of those days for anything. I hope you always know how much we love you little dude. We thank God for both you and Vivian every day and cannot wait to see what the future holds! Happy Happy First Birthday buddy!
